The Western Ontario Population Center of 205,000 citizens is comprised of the three communities of Kitchener – Waterloo – and Cambridge. It is often referred to by locals as K-W leaving out the smallest community in the tri-cities -- Cambridge.  Kitchener area has always been a business and manufacturing hub for furniture, seating and automotive companies. Lately the medical and high tech arenas have become major employers with the construction of the University of Waterloo School Of Pharmacology and the new satellite DeGroote School of Medicine affiliated with McMaster University. The University of Waterloo was of course the incubator for the RIM Corporation (Blackberry) and is the second largest supplier of computer science graduates to GOOGLE in Canada and the US.  For fun and families there is the famous performing arts center known as Center on the Square home of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. Kitchener also has one of the oldest Farmers Markets in Ontario that is enjoyed seasonally by shoppers from near and far.
